The Sr. Compliance Analyst is accountable to the Lead International Compliance Engineer - Product Safety Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. This position will research and provide expert level technical support with respect to global market access regulations for both durable floor care products and consumable products. This will include staying abreast of all agency standards and regulations that impact our products in the global markets that BISSELL is represented. This role will also include but is not limited to participation in helping to guide and provide expert level technical support with respect to product safety and compliance deliverables as defined in the Global Product Development process. This position will require interactions with internal and external resources, with significant use of outside resources and contacts. The primary focus of this position is to ensure that BISSELL products are safe and in conformance to all applicable safety and regulatory requirements and guidelines globally.
Responsibilities
This position is directly or indirectly responsible for the following pertaining to regulatory compliance of BISSELL products:
- Provide knowledge of global regulations that impact BISSELL products that are marketed worldwide. This includes research of technical standards and regulations, staying abreast of agency standards and regulations that impact the global markets in which BISSELL is represented.
- Support the compliance department to ensure all BISSEL products meet regulatory requirements in the markets we serve. Document and share these practices such that obtained knowledge is available to all associates.
- Maintain strong industry contacts engaged in global market access, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Participate and represent BISSELL in groups and/or standardization bodies that directly impact BISSELL products.
- Act as a liaison between product safety and compliance, consultants, and BISSELL to ensure compliance with all regulations globally.
- Develop and communicate clear technical and administrative guidance to project teams in support of obtaining market specific safety listings/certification and meeting local regulations.
- In conjunction with the Lead International Compliance Engineer, develop and document best practices by category such that obtained knowledge is available to all associates.
- Attend seminars as required to stay abreast of all agency standards that impact the markets in which BISSELL designs, sources, and sells product into globally.
- Work closely to support other internal departments such as Marketing and Quality Control on cross functional activities such as the creation of technical documents like the “Right to Repair”.
- Lead Compliance activities with cross functional and cross-cultural teams.
- Champion internal systematic problem-solving activities and assertively give data rational input in external systematic problem-solving sessions.
- Create and maintain a Regulatory tracker that captures all Global Regulations that affect BISSELL product.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Education:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree
- 5+ years relevant industry experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Specific concentration: Good knowledge of, and experience with, material restriction regulations (e.g. Prop65, REACH, RoHS, SCIP) and consumable/formula regulatory updates by connecting with WTO (World Trade Organization) and other resources globally.
- Experience with consumer product safety standards (e.g. UL1017, IEC 60335-1, IEC 60335-2-2) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.
- Experience at high volume, consumer products, company
- Direct experience in compliance or regulatory environment
- UL, ETL, and International electromechanical compliance experience
- Consumer cleaner product and formula regulations experience
- Participating member of agency and regulatory committees
